Painting II / Spring 2018

Homework:  Choose one of your collages for your final painting. Do 3 thumbnail sketches to explore different compositional arrangements of your forms. Then, on your palette, mix all the colors you will be working with that are present in your collage-- make a color palette sheet like the one below. Find 1 artist online that you are interested in that related to a texture, technique or subject matter in your collage, make a journal entry.s Now, draw our your composition in pencil on your support (canvas or wood board) that is at least 18"  x 24" or larger. Begin painting, and make sure to have 2 layers of paint on your surface before Monday, and make sure the entire canvas has been addressed.

Hi class, We will be visiting my MFA Thesis show on February 14th instead of being in class. We will meet down at the Gallery Exhibit/208 at 2:15pm . We will finish at 4:30 to give you time to come back to campus. All that your will need is your sketchbook and pencil. You guys will need to coordinate carpool to get down there.
